When you travel to the Maldives you go on a real holiday.

The holiday in the best sense of the word.

That holiday where you get away from everything, leave stress at home and finally enjoy some freedom in a heavenly place!

Inveterate globetrotters, backpackers and travelers who love to plan their journey in every single detail to explore and visit as much as possible are probably thinking that only “lazy asses” travel to the Maldives!

But I think that what makes travel so great is that you can mix up traveling styles too and not only cultures and environments.

Come on! You deserve too to travel to the Maldives!

If you want you can lie down all day on a sun chair and just do nothing. Or finally read the whole trilogy of Lord of the Rings. Or take thousands of pictures with your huge wanderlust hat.

My attempt to wear a wanderlust hat in the Maldives

But if being a lizard under the sun is not your thing (I hear you) there are many activities and excursions that you can do!

My friend Silvia and I brought a few books with us because we were afraid that we would have banged our heads against coconut trees since our second day in the Maldives.

But, turn of the events, we read them only on the plane!

Snorkeling. Boat trips. Dolphin sightings. Villages and islands hopping. Kayak trips. Swimming in beautiful water with fifty shades of blue (apologies for sounding like an erotic movie!).

Who would have thought that we would have had such busy days in the Maldives!

Besides, if you love diving just like I do, the Maldives is probably the best spot on Earth for that!

Dolphins, sharks, manta rays, thousands of colorful fishes, sea turtles, lobsters, eels! Sea life is so rich and the water is so nice and warm that everyone feels comfortable, including those divers who hate cold temperatures like me.

Come on! I know I have convinced you!

So now all you have to do is packing your swimwear and travel to the Maldives for your heavenly vacation!

  1. Thanks for encouraging me to go to the Maldives. I would love to go. I would love to dive too!

    1. You should do it! It’s the best place where to dive! 😉

  2. How beautiful! I would love to visit the Maldives, looks so relaxing and full of activities. I would probably spend a good few days just laying in the sun though!

    1. It sounds like a plan 😀 Just don’t forget to put a lot of sunscreen on! The sun is so strong!

  3. I agree that the Maldives is a REAL holiday! I’ve been wanting to visit the Maldives for the past 10 years and am hoping I will get there within the next two 🙂 Your reason for buying books is hilarious.

    1. I hope you get there soon. Everyone deserves it! And don’t forget your books 😀

  4. Maldives will forever remain one of the highest must visit destinations on my bucket list! I am not a huge fan of being a lizard so find me in the water somewhere haha

    1. I hope you tick it off your bucket list soon 🙂

  5. The water looks so clear. I just had Sri Lankan food for the first time back in April.

  6. This is how the real heaven looks like! It’s on my bucket list but I would like to live there one day 🙂

    1. I hope you get there soon 🙂

  7. Maldives is really pretty and I would love to visit it someday. But the price of the water villas are too high to me, and when I visit Maldives, I would actually love to spend a couple of nights in a water villa with pool and jacuzzi (all inclusive), hence I will wait for a while. Meanwhile, it was great to know that there are many interesting activities out there in Maldives. I am going to experience holiday in Maldives, soon.

    1. Yes the water villas are very expensive so I didn’t experience that. But we loved staying in our lovely guesthouse on a local island and we did not spend much 🙂

  8. You convinced me! Anyway, you did not have to, because I have long dreamed of a trip to the Maldives. I like to explore but most of all I prefer slow travel, so this place is perfect for me. Especially after the winter spent in cold Poland, I would feel like in paradise lying on these beautiful beaches in the shade of palm trees and immerse myself in the blue sea. 😉

    1. Oh yes! Flying to Maldives from a country in the middle of winter is the best!

  9. Lucky you girl with your trips to Maldives. It was your first time ? How many days you recommend for first timers? The colour of the water remind me a little bit of Diani Beach in Kenya 🙂

    1. Yes Andrew it was my first time 🙂 I think about a week is a good deal for a trip to Maldives 😉

  10. There is just no doubting that the Maldives is such a beautiful destination from which to enjoy a fabulous holiday. Aside from being such an abundance of beauty, I love how there is so much that you can explore and do to maximise your holiday. Of course, you can always intersperse that with bouts of total relaxation on the gorgeous beaches as well. A perfect example of a holiday that basically anyone can tailor to what they love doing the most. Great post.

    1. Thank you Nicole! Exactly! Maldives makes everyone happy 🙂

  11. I was literally just looking at flights to Maldives yesterday so I don’t need any more convincing! But I mean, dolphn sights and boat trips and kayaking… You’re getting me super excited to visit now!

    1. I know! It’s not that hard to convince people to travel to the Maldives 😀

  12. Amar Singh says:

Quite agree with you that Maldives is a true holiday where you can just relax and forget about everything. Unlike other busy tourist filled destinations it’s not as busy. The beaches are beautiful but I do think it’s a bit over priced. But truely worth it for those extraordinary clear waters and white sands.

    1. Yes Maldives is quite expensive but local islands are definitely more affordable 😉

  13. Wow, your post and video just make me want to head back to the Maldives!

    1. Thank you Oscar! I want to go back to the Maldives so badly too 😀
